About me.

I’m Pedro Tabio, a software engineer, founder, and hands-on engineering leader. My work moves between writing code, making product decisions, and helping a team take ownership of what we build.

I co-founded Ultralight, where I helped build software for healthcare, designed production systems, and hired and mentored our early engineers. I stayed close to the code as the team grew, working on everything from clinical integrations to AI tools used by clinicians.

Before that, I spent several years at Stride, eventually leading engineering. Across those experiences, I’ve worked on web and mobile products, the systems behind them, and the ways engineering teams make decisions and deliver work.

These days, I’m especially interested in making AI useful in real organizations: what context it needs, how people review its work, and where human judgment belongs. This site is a place to write through those questions and share what I’m learning.
